About Your Blog's Statistics

You can download a "comma delimited file" (CSV) from this page that lets you create your own statistics and graphs.

Here are samples:

I created these using statistical software that

  • understands CSV
  • can handle large files

Excel is fine for the first point, but chops the file at a maximum of about 65000 records. Your raw CSV statistics file is approx. 160.000 records as of today.

I have provided you with a utility to download it to your (or anybody's) computer. However please consider that it is quite large (about 23Mb) and that each download will consume your bandwidth. I would not advise you to make this generally available. For example, you could download it to yourself, use some compression tool such as WinZip to compress it, and then send it via e-mail to your statistical minded friends.

if you do decide to download it, click here.

The fields are as follows (left to right, which I list here top to bottom):

  • Entry (Post) title (NULL if there is none. This is OK, for example for the home page)
  • Entry's category (NULL if there is none. Not all your posts are in a category)
  • Entry ID. This is the unique number associated with the post, useful for sorting. NULL if none such)
  • Number of comments for the Entry. (NULL if none such, for example the home page does not have comments)
  • Date on which the hit occurred in the YYYY-MM-DD format.
  • Day of the Week, such as Monday, ect
  • Month such as October
  • Year
  • The url of the visited page
  • The url of the referral page (NULL if none such, i.e direct visit)
  • Country (This is not reliable, as people may be using 'fake' ip addresses or proxies, ect)

I guess that's it!
